The Redtooth Poker family stretches much further than the Redtooth Poker league. For those of you who don’t know, back in 2014 Redtooth Poker, the UK’s largest pub poker league, bought The Nuts Poker League who was and still is comfortably the 2nd largest pub poker league in the UK!
The Nuts Poker League boasts over 250 LIVE venues and in 2017 they will have a yearly prize fund of £70,000. In addition they will also be sending FIVE players to Las Vegas to join forces with Redtooth Poker and be a part of the Great Britain poker team in the World League Poker Championships.
The Nuts Poker League was set up by Wrexham entrepreneur Steve Bellis who appeared on hit TV BBC2 show The Dragons Den in 2006. Hatem & Tonia Jahshan came to the Den to broker a deal for their in-home tea parties. After finding Cream of Earl Grey while travelling, Tonia’s parties with friends quickly branched into selling tea kits to consultants. After making over $1 million, they looked to the Dragons to help them enter the U.S. Edinburgh's best dive bar - Starbar - is holding a weekly pub poker tournament which occurs at 7.30pm on Mondays. Part of The Nuts Pub Poker League (as seen on Dragons' Den), the tournament is set. Another 40 games are given upon deposit on the second day after the first deposit (min £20), and an additional 40 games are given upon deposit on the third day (min £20). Winnings won with Poker Nuts League games that require deposit, have Poker Nuts League to be wagered 35x. Bonuses that require deposit, have Poker Nuts League. The ensuing exchange certainly played out like a hand of Texas Hold’em, as Steve Bellis took on five potential investors, and got a call from two, with his business The Nuts Poker League. And so my interest in pub poker was ignited.
They are also one of the original pub poker leagues and are still going strong after an impressive 11 years in operation.
